Sarah Marquis, the co-founder and winemaker of Mollydooker Wines, has taken the reins as the sole owner of the high-profile McLaren Vale winery.

Mollydooker was created by Sarah and Sparky Marquis in 2006.

“It was time for Sparky and I to go our separate ways, but I have always been actively involved as a winemaker here and that won’t be any different,” she says.

“The change in ownership is part of the ongoing growth and evolution of the brand, and our commitment to producing consistently world-class wines hasn’t – and won’t – change.”

Sarah says the 2017 vintage is one of the best vintages she’s seen.

“There is a production potential of up to 100,000 cases and early signs are extremely positive with quality looking as good as ever,” she says.

Mollydooker has also just released its 2016 Lefty Wines around the world.

“We have already sold more than 35 percent worldwide,” Sarah says.

“We are all very excited about what the future holds at Mollydooker and I am absolutely thrilled to be working with such a talented and experienced team to see just what we can achieve next.”

Mollydooker wines have featured eight times in Wine Spectator’s ‘Top 100’ and three times in its ‘Top 10 Wines of the World’.
