Two years after being awarded Best New Winery in Australia by James Halliday, Rob Dolan has opened his beautiful new cellar door only 30 minutes from the Melbourne CBD.

Described as an epicurean super-hub, the cellar door is set on 100 acres of rolling farmland and vineyard on Delaneys Road at Warrandyte South – at the very start of the Yarra Valley.

After making wine in the Yarra Valley for more than 20 years, Rob has gone out and started producing under his own label, Rob Dolan Wines.

“It’s all about real wine, real people and real character,” Rob says.

The Cellar door was designed by Dale White and Bek Gallagher, whose portfolio includes The Public Brewery, The Cellar Door by The Public Brewery and The Farm Yarra Valley. It makes a statement with restored original features, reclaimed timbers and a huge wrap-around recycled timber deck positioned on lush green grass, overlooking a gorgeous water feature.

The winery is also home to the Stone and Crow Cheese Company’s ‘Crow’s Nest’. Founder and cheesemaker Jack Holman was head cheesemaker at Yarra Valley Dairy for the past 12 years.

“It makes Jack an integral part of the region’s food and wine heritage,” Rob says.

“Some like to refer to him as Cheesus.”

All cheese can be paired with Rob’s wide range on offer for free tasting and purchase.

The Rob Dolan range of wines includes a wide range of varieties including Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The Cellar Door is open seven days from 10am to 5pm.
